I know people have found alternatives for the large scrambler air filters, but does anyone have a source or a substitute for this filter?

Thanks,

Jim

What are the dimensions Jim? I'm just wondering if it is the same filter as used on the stock 900 squarecases, in which case I've tracked down a perfect fitting replacement from a tractor.

No, sorry Jim. That's much smaller. I couldn't tell the scale from the pics.

Jim, I have run into this issue before...

I am running a wix #42719
also available as a napa gold #2719

The slightly smaller id is not a problem, fits good, the factory one was a loose fit anyway, and it is just slightly taller also not a problem. o.d. is basically identical...

Cost me $8.22 at rock auto (online) and possibly available in your town, or just buy one online...

Thanks Joe.

The one I pulled out was a "Fram" filter, so definitely not original and not Italian.

Your dimensions are certainly more accurate than mine.

Thanks for the good information. I'll order one today.

Jim, im not sure how close the fram one you have fits, but I think advance auto ? or another chain store sells fram...just a thought, but i looked around, and no one online, or locally could beat rockauto.com's price on a wix one. Plus (only my opinion, but shared by many others) Wix produces very good filters, much better than fram, and probably almost any other competitive filter on the market. I was actually looking into a k/n equiv. and I searched there entire catalog, nothing available, at least not anywhere near as close of a fit as this wix filter i referenced... or I would have bought one instead.
