I thought I bought a speedometer cable from Road and Race about 15 years ago but I can't find cables on their website now.
I have a speedometer cable that is about 25 inches long (65cm) but I would have to drop the triple trees a few inches just to stretch the cable enough to fit.
It seems like a lame reason to let the length of the speedo cable govern the fork length.
Does anyone know which of the vendors carries speedometer cables?

Re: Source for speedometer cables?
Jim, not sure which speedo you are running, but here is the one i needed for my brothers scr (because of the speedo being mounted in the scr gauge pod on the later scr's with the 35mm marzocchi front end) This one is 730 mm, and I know it fits the veglia I have here, and also the original cev from the 1970 450 scr... From Joe at eurojamb (bsanut on ebay) $42.73 shipped...
Giovanni (gio655 ebay i.d.) Sells a 720mm cable that I believe is originally a bevel twin part but im not sure... I seem to recall someone selling a 680mm cable which is the only size i have seen between what you have, and the one in the link i sent, but i can not find it at the moment...

Jim, one other point...
Phil at road/race almost surely has a cable for you also, but there website is not that great...You will need to call or email him... and Gio has one too i'm sure, with both of these options though, you will be waiting a while. (Australia, or Netherlands) If 730mm isn't too long, it will be way cheaper/quicker to get it from eurojamb...

Re: Source for speedometer cables?
I have the veglia 150mph bucket mounted speedo at the high end, and the standard fitment front wheel hub on the low end.
Thanks for the tips! I just ordered from bsanut....

Re: Source for speedometer cables?
You probably have the exact same speedo I do then... I double checked ,I have a veglia from a mach 1, 150 mph, and it is the 16mm thread...as for what length you need, can't really help there. I usually use a piece of thick solid core copper wire (covered) to "mock up" the length, I do this because you can bend it, and conform it to how you want yours routed...
ALSO...
With yours mounted in the bucket...730 might be too long. I was refering to the 450 scr when I mentioned that length, and its speedo mounts considerably higher, and the routing is different too...
