Carrier/rack for 175

Has anyone ever seen a rack which fits the narrowcase bikes from any of the suppliers? I have never seen a real one, but I believe it was an option and I found a photo online (attached). I want to try and do a "big trip" on my little Ducati and carrying some bits and bobs would be easier if there was something to attach a small bag to. I refuse to wear a rucksack on a bike.

Hi Ian,
I think Marcello Marturiello the admin of the "DUCATI SINGLE PARTS AND BIKES MARKET" Facebook Group may be worth asking. I have a recollection seeing some amongst his parts many years ago. Maybe also try Brian Fox (Italian vintage motorcycles in Market Rasen).

Thanks Nigel - I had a nice chat with Brian but no joy there. And as you may have seen I have joined that FB group.
Likelihood is that I'll have to make/modify something to fit.

I was at the Stafford Show today and found the chap who makes nice stainless steel carriers, but only to existing patterns not custom ones. The closest was a BSA Starfire but would need modifying and seemed quite expensive to take a chance on.
Outside in the jumble I picked up an old Craven universal rack which I should be able to make some brackets for and paint to match my frame.
Then I can decide where to go.

Ian, here's a perfect rack which will be hard for you to find. When I first saw one I thought it might've been a factory option, it fits so well. They were made especially for Ducati singles and even have a stamp indicating so. Barely visible is another mark with the manufacturer's name, Triple A, of Gardena California. I own two, one with a small passenger backrest(!). Funny how we transition from clip-ons and rearsets to parcel racks.
It's unlikely you'll find one in the UK, but I'd be happy to supply dimensions if you like.

Thanks for the photos Paul, and apologies for the slow reply. I've been travelling for work the last few days.
That version picks up different points on the bike than the one in my photo but I think it may be easier to use the top damper mounts (as yours) rather than the seat mounts (as my photo). I will need to do something different for the rear mount anyway as I have an aluminium mudguard which I don't think will be suitable.
I'll get a photo of my Craven rack when I am at home.

Photos of rack on the floor, and also roughly wedged in position on the bike. Not quite as neat as the proper thing but will be OK for my needs, especially when it's been painted to match my frame.
