Speedometer Anomoly

Hello Folks,
Winter here and this pussy has laid up for the winter, awaiting the all to brief nice bits of summer in the South.
Good light shows from the Aurora Australis tho not as good as Scotland's Northern lights.
So a question please, my smiths speedo read 20 k over (or there abouts) I scanned previous posts but couldn't find
a similar post, atm I just use a bicycle phone mount and use phone gps as my speedo.
I have an 18 inch front wheel, and the little dot is a tiny led high beam indicator as required by our road laws.
Any thoughts

Also my tail lamp lense fell off, so i used the superglue and baking soda trick to build up the worn plastic screw holes, Drilled and tapped awaiting a lense.
While i had the assembly out I added some nicely reflective aluminium behind the globe and polished it,
certainly seems to be effective.

Hi Thanks,
I am not keen to dismantle it, the refitting of a bezel ring is beyond me going by yootoob ,
I did find this a good read though.

and the tool shown in this article is nifty

I was just a bit curious.

There is a fellow in Manly NSW. Manly auto instruments from memory ?
Reasonably priced and very good work.
Worth a call.

Thanks Graeme,
Looked at Howard's and looked at their reviews - 12 month turn around.
Excellent quality apparently, but I wont wait that long.
I might call, thanks

Jason, not Howard. Don’t know any Howard.
Jason did my 450 Desmo gauges and my Darmah.
Excellent job and very reasonable prices.
Both were about a month turnaround.
Manly Auto Instrument Repairs.

Sorry Graeme,
my bad, I meant Howard Instruments in Melb.
When we had an Aircraft Industry there used to be many instrument fitters in the Essendon Airport
neighborhood, sadly gone. There is a chap in Moorabbin but "he does cars".

In the days of amphometers there used to be Utes in Melbourne with giant speedo's on the roof facing backward,
and a notice saying if yours didn't agree call us for repairs !
Currently waiting for Lonsdale Auto Electrics to respond, if they don't then Manly, oddly I used to licve in Narrabeen..

Cheers and thanks
