1966 Scrambler NC ignition oil seal question

Good morning List-
I am working on my 1966 Scrambler, looking to swap in the 359 automatic advance unit (AAU), to replace the 367AAU that is originally installed. I already converted the ignition to battery-power, and on advice from this list, want to change that AAU. ( Thank you Dave354 ! ).
I note an oil weep from underneath the AAU- there is an oil seal there- is it possible to pull that seal from "outside" and then press in a new seal? Or do I remove the housing and remove the seal from the "inside"?
Also, I note that the AAU has a slot drive, but it is a "centered" slot drive, as opposed to an off-set slot drive, such as my Volvos and MGs have on their distributors. As it is a "centered" slot drive, I assume I could accidentally plop in that AAU 180 degrees off... so I must be careful, correct?
Sincerely,
