Remagnetize Flywheel

I just had my flywheel re-magnetized by the Casa Lambretta shop in Denver CO USA. By chance I was travelling to Denver so brought my flywheel along and got to see it in person.

At 3,000 RPM I was under the 40V AC spec and suspected the flywheel magnetization since I had already rewound an old stator with no improvement.

My Ducati 250 narrow case flywheel fit perfectly on his re-magnetizer. He located which was North/South, then measured the strength of the magnetic field before and after re-magnetizing. The cost was reasonable and the magnetic force approximately doubled.

This is their website in case anyone has need and wants to reach out to them:

Congrats on the successful rewiring of your stator. Now I know where I can send mine when I need that done, :D

Even better news on finding a place that can remagnetize our flywheels. Going forward, when redoing an electrical system the first thing I am going to do is send my flywheel out to the these guys. The price seems very reasonable. Great info!

Before I re-magnetized the flywheel, the AC output from the stator was 8.7V at 1,000 RPM. Now it generates 12.0V. Worth every penny :D
