So I’m trying to figure out how all the pieces go together in the fork. Specifically the hydraulic rod assembly. When I took everything apart it was obvious it wasn’t put together correctly and the work shop manual is not detailed enough. I’ve enclosed two photos with my parts and a assembled photo of the hydraulic assembly so my questions are how does it fit in the fork and are there any seals inside the lower fork leg?

The valve with balls fits with ball side upermost and the washer sits on the balls and holds them in. wire clip goes under valve and holds in the staunchion . There has been other posts about the short spring .

Thank you for your reply, I did finally figure out how it goes together and it was tricky to keep the balls in the valve during assembly. I ended up mounting the valve, balls and conical spring in the fork leg and then dropped the hydraulic rod from the top of the leg. I then took the rod from the steering friction assembly and put it thru the bottom of the lower fork leg in order to guide the hydraulic rod thru the bottom of the fork and then used an impact driver to snug the bottom bolt up. Worked great.

Cheers!!
