Duc stators like on the widecase singles are consider two phase half wave. This is why the factory regulators are special.
Most new regulators are single phase, so my question is to confirm my belief that dropping red makes it single phase full wave.

I've heard the Ducati system described as two phase - but it isn't. It is "single phase, centre-tapped".
Type it into google for lots of diagrams, just like the Ducati system.
Another good reason to change to the plain single phase is to pay less for conventional rectifier-regulators.
