Jordan, this is a good Idea to make one new fitting part. Yes, there is a tame machinist around, for the standard work it is myself. For the delicate work there is a colleague, I pay him with chocolate bars or honey (self harvested). I love this arrangment!

Hi Wolf,

I am not sure about this but I believe that the narrow-case seals are smaller than the wide-case seals, so it may be possible that you have a narrow-case seal and that is why it is too small. Have a look at the Lacey web site where it lists the two types of seal.

Cheers,

Colin

...I think I will go for the standard seal 5-15-5...

Thanks a lot for your input!

Hi Wolf,

If you go for the Lacey seal, be aware that they are thicker than the housing so will not push in all the way until they are flush, there will be a millimetre or so sticking out from the case, so don't keep trying to tap it in further. Don't ask me how I know!

Cheers,

Colin

Hi Colin,

this is good advice! Also the standard seal is thicker than the boring depth which is 4mm. I think I will go for 4.5mm depth.

Kind regards

Wolf
