'75 Mk3 detailing work.

Hi everyone! A few weeks ago I bought the prettiest little blue and gold 1975 Mk3, and I'm putting right some (very) minor details that are slightly bugging me. One of these is that the two petcocks point in different directions, so I want to buy a fibre washer to try and correct this. Can anyone confirm the thread diameter, (10 or 12mm) please?

As far as I know the petrol taps are not 'handed' which means the RH tap is identical to the LH tap so they can only work in opposite directions to one another, I also have a 74 mk3 with opposite operation petrol taps .......BTW I am pretty sure they are 10 mm.

Thanks George, good information. My left hand tap rotates left to right, the right hand one goes forward to back. I'm just looking to get them both doing roughly the same thing :D . Phil
