The Rudge wheel and spline design went on to cars like Aston Martin and the E type. The Rudge boys went on to build the Radars for our defence and night fighters in the war. Clever lads.

Rudge produced one the best centre stand designs any motorcycle ever had! with a hand lever, a child could put a 500cc on it with ease....same design copied by numerous manufacturers today as a quick lift race stand (not integral to the bike of course).

Mine hasn't got one of those. It's actually a very poor centrestand, which is one of the reasons the other guy got rid of it. Too heavy for him now.
