Preferably a name brand, I'd prefer not generic Chinese, thanks.

I guess my angle grinder and pin punch is out? For chains with fish links I never use a chain breaker.

On smaller chains, such as on these singles, the chain is usually joined by a link which is fastened by a spring clip on the outside of the chain link. It’s called a fish link because it’s the shape of a fish and is fitted in the direction of chain rotation, the ‘fish ‘ always swimming in the direction of the chain.

Lots of larger modern bikes have chains which are joined by a riveted link. For these, you need a chain tool to either split the chain, then as a tool to nip up the rivet link to re join the chain.

Hope that helps

Dave

I find a good starting place for quality generic motorcycle tools is Motion Pro.

This is their chain breaker, but if you want to be able to rivet as well, expect to pay more.

Thanks Dave.
A chain breaker is likely still needed, to cut to the required length.
I knew someone who always used his bench grinder - looked dangerous.
