Best way to clean discoloured exhaust header?

Someone suggested steel wool, but after seeing v little return for a lot of elbow grease, I'm looking for something easier. thanks

Hi, in what way has it discoloured? Just bluing from heat or corrosion, dirt etc?

If it has blued? the only thing that will improve the look is solvol autosol which will take the bad look of the blue by polishing the chrome again but will not remove the colour very much......just a little.

It's a chrome plate pipe, and it looks like some fluid and dirt has hit it while hot and baked on. Maybe ridden thru a puddle while hot.

thanks, but alas Harpic don't sell the 11% HCl toilet cleaner in Australia. The only one with acid (most are caustic) is 2% lactic acid. I gave it go and it did nothing. All is not lost tho' because it works well in the dunny.

I used this on a chrome header that turned blue up where the header entered the cylinder head.

It worked to my satisfaction. It left the chrome looking a little yellowed, but the deep blue hue was gone and I was happier to have the less noticeable yellow tinge than the deep blue color.
