'74 450 Jupiter Airbox - What is correct?

My '74 has the fiberglass "kidney" side covers and the right side encloses the air filter. Right now the filter element is held in place by its open top being pressed against the inside of the fiberglass cover. This can't be correct and I assume I should have a "thinner" air filter element held on by a solid plate with a bolt/nut to that center bracket, all hidden under the cover. Can someone with this model confirm the correct set up? Are my missing parts available? Thank you.

I’ve been scanning parts sites and do see a thinner element for bikes with covers, so I do believe I am missing the center plate and hardware. I don’t see those parts (yet anyway) so if anyone knows of them please let me know! Otherwise I can easily fab up something as this is hidden.

From the 1974 parts catalog (450 SCR section) you can see what's missing. The center bolt or stud in the airbox is also missing, but not depicted on the posted catalog page. Imho, the filter cartrídge is the same as used in the 750 GT, FIAMM 6179. This page
https://www.inlinefilters.co.uk/info/xrefs/Fiaam.htm gives a cross reference for FIAMM filters, finally shows

Thank you Hans. I'm a new owner, so do you know of sources of used/salvage Ducati parts where maybe I can find cover 0093.27.492? I'll keep looking...

I'm not sure that parts diagram is correct. I think you actually want one that looks like this:

No, that's one of these, part number 0690.91.755. As fitted to what the Italians often refer to as the First Series (Prima Serie) of Scrambler.

Here it is in place:

What Alex is after is the air filter for a Second Series. It is different from the First Series and is hidden behind a big plastic side cover like this:

Alex, try Maurizio or Ombretta at Ducati Vintage Store. They were (and may still be ...) the leading lights behind Gli Amici dello Scrambler for many years.
Super people, always willing to help.

Yes, Ventodue's advice is certainly the best you can do to find out which parts are really missing.
