Has anyone tried alternative threaded tappet adjusters? I have bought one from a Toyota, that looks to be a direct replacement for the Ducati item, but I haven't got around to seeing if it will fit yet, but at £5 it was worth a punt. Volkswagen Beetle aftermarket ones also look the same and cost about £18 for four.

Volkswagen Beetle, and early 4-cylinder Porsche, tappet adjusters will fit the Ducati rockers, having the same M8x1 thread.
They are longer than the Ducati items and have a bulkier swivel head, although they can be machined down to size.
