Eldert,
I would love to know more about your cafe bike. So much cool stuff going on. i.e. Dry clutch. Looks like some extra bracing on the frame too.
I have picked up little bits here and there. Do you have a build thread anywhere?

me too. I'd love more pics and closeups of the mods. That is a beauty.

Re: Eldert's Cafe Bike
Hi Guys
i build this bike more then 10 years ago . i did not have a digital camera or computer back then so no pictures
where taken during the build
i build the bike from spare race stuff i had laying around . frame is a widecase 250 Monza
engine is a 450 taken out to 466 from the original 435 cc
i used a modified liner from a from a Peugeot diesel engine used in cars and marine engines
went to a 93.5 outside liner diameter up from the std. 92 mm
the cases where spindeld out to 93.6 to accept the new 93.5 mm liner . put in time-serts in the cilinderbolt holes
these inserts are way longer and better than helicoils ( look at Ebay item 290454694629 )
piston diameter is 89 mm .
a new input shaft was made for the gearbox . one that does not brake at the circlip that holds second gear in place
the dry clutch i got from a guy in Italy . he quit making those clutches but gave the molds and drawings to Guiseppi
Serraino in Bologna . Guiseppi has these made now . the only differance is the cover is polished
i bought one saterday and the price was 750 euro ( Imola swap meet )
ditched the kickstarter all together so pushstart only
reangled the valves in the head and put in 42 / 36 mm valves . reshaped combustion chamber with a 10 mm sparkplug
way up in the head . camshaft is a Megacycle 564 - 00 . carb is a 38 mm Amal MK II smootbore item
the 250 frame has no extra bracing like the 450 does so we welded 2 pieces of tubing in there
rearsets are home made and chrome plated . the pressure plate from the clutch started to rust so i had that nickel plated
forks are Ceriani GP in Marzocchi tripple clamps from a Silver desmo and the front brake is a Ceriani replica

With my timing/ignition issue (viewtopic.php?f=3&t=64) wondering how it was having a bike that you could only push/bump start?
