I'm guessing that this has been covered before, but I can't find it.......Does anyone know the recommended plug gap when using the Electrex World road kit?
Thanks,
Colin

Re: Spark Plug Gap With Electrex World Ignition
Aye Colin,
Nigel, I believe, uses 0.025" (0.635mm) and I have used that to good effect. I have also used 0.030" (0.762mm) as specified by Ducati for their EI system and again had no problems, to date. This is using the Electrex STK-169D ignition kit that I have fitted and which has similar components to other ignition systems manufactured by Electrex for Ducati singles.
If I have this incorrect, then I am sure that Nigel will correct me.
Good health, Bill

Re: Spark Plug Gap With Electrex World Ignition
Bill,
I, too have been running 0.030" but I've no idea if that is right. John Carpenter of Mistral Engineering, who made the RITA systems for bikes, told me that bigger is better and recommended 0.030", and I know that modern cars run up to 0.040", but old Ducatis are anything but modern.
Cheers,
Colin

Mike Walker recommended 0.030" for the Ducati Electronica ignition on the Mk3 widecase singles.

Re: Spark Plug Gap With Electrex World Ignition
This is good to know. I just finished installing the Electrix EI in my 67 Mark 3, it started right up on first kick and ran great with the factory recommended.013” - .017”. But I’ll try increasing to.030”. It’s great not fiddling around with points and the mechanical advance mechanism !

Re: Spark Plug Gap With Electrex World Ignition
Update: Electrex World told me to use the standard Ducati gap, so I assume that means 25 thou.
