Hi Colin
Nigel Lacey has been on holiday and Gosnays received guides yesterday. Could be another week or two.
Bit of good news, got phone call today from painter and collected Italian piece of art.

Wow! They don't make tanks like that anymore.

Interesting shape and decoration, but the position of the filler cap?

I've often thought the cap was in a strange position, but if it was at the front of the tank, it would not be conducive for a quick refill with a chin pad tied on, maybe.
That looks to be a great job George, indeed those tanks are certainly a piece of Italian art.

Tank designed for Italian long distance road races. Clip-on bars. Arms and knees tucked into tank contours. Chin on tank pad. Filler cap out of the way and easy for quick fill. Italian function with style.

Re: Ducati rebuild. Here I go again
Collected head from Gosnays Engineering today. Excellent job and only two days later than expected. New guides / valves fitted, seats recut, valves lapped in. Total labour cost including VAT £84.00. Reasonable price for professional job. Not worth my while fitting myself. Company does all types of auto engineering and I will be using again if I need anything done.
For those of us that worry about work being done on Ducati engines, when I called and asked if my Ducati head was ready he asked me which one as he had three waiting for collection.
Now to put it together and get it registered.

I think I'm glad it didn't catch on.
