Hi Ross,
I bought one from Ducati Vintage Store for my 250 SCR and fitted it no trouble at all, very straightforward.

The wire is a spring. The seal ring is adjustable for height/pressure.

The wire on mine only just reached the location hole. That was after carefully clearing the groove it sits in. Had to re bend it a little. Still not totally happy with it. Had to shorten the locking tabs too. Also bend them a little. On the tank I had to grind the start of the locking ramp so the tabs would ride up them.
I am going to try and get some spring wire and bend up a new one.
Just thought this may help someone else.
Cheers.

If anyone has an old cap that they dont use, I would be interested in the spring clip.
It is harder than you think to make one. :(
Cheers.

I bought a stainless replica of the 70's flip-up cap (probably Indian made) and the spring plate was just a bit of crudely bent steel, making the button very difficult to open. I had to take the spring plate out of the original (Italian-made) cap and fit that to the replacement before it was useable.
