Hi,
I have a 250 bevel engine which I want to identify and hopefully rebuild as it was originally.
The number on the casing is MD86952MD everywhere I look they say it should be DM, is this a Spanish built engine?

Re: Identification
Iscart, your motor is a Spanish built one.
The MD and DM stamping is not so straight forward.
Nearly all Spanish narrowcase motors are stamped MD, as are the frames.
All widecase motors are stamped DM, whether built in Italy or Spain.
Just because your motor has a DM prefix to it's engine number does not mean it's Italian, even if it says 'Made in Italy' on the RH engine covers.
Most widecase Spanish frames have an engine number that has a MD prefix, but not all.
Some of the Scramblers have a frame number that starts DM250 or DM350.
Don't assume DM instantly means you have an Italian item.
