The photo shows original (Mototrans Elite)on right. The one on the left was acquired by post (Spain) - described as for an Elite.

The original has significant wear to both lobes but its inlet profile is right because the skate was not running with full width contact. I'm minded to send it back but am intrigued to know what it might be from and what it might change in engine running/power. The original cam has no markings I can find, the acquired cam has a '1' stamped on it and its left end is 1mm longer than the original's.

I don't know how we are supposed to identify different cams; the Italian ones had a different colour paint mark at the thread end, which was fine when the cam was new, but not so good when the paint disappeared. I don't know how Mototrans marked their cams - Jon might know - but comparing the cams side-by-side seems the best bet, if the other, identifiable cams are available to do this.

Hello.
Mototrans, on the Elite mounted the camshaft engraved "1.E", although I also mount the camshaft "U".

If yours has engraved "1", possibly the rest of the inscription has been erased, it is surely an original elite camshaft, Mototrans.

Greetings.
