Does anyone have the critical dimensions of the standard front fork yoke variations (marzocchi 35mm as fitted to the widecase singles) need the centre to centre measurements for the fork tubes and the steering stem.
Cheers,
George

Hello George,

Which model wide case,
Scrambler, RT, Shotgun, blue and gold bike, etc. All had 35mm Mazocchi.

Hi Graeme,
You got my problem in one :) its the differences in dimensions of all these model of widecase top yokes ...I thought they were all pretty much the same but apparently not, certainly the scrambler version is supposed to be different to the road bike, but by how much?
Cheers,
George

Aye George,

Just been out to the workshop and measured up the top yoke on the carb blower ;) , this has been on the bike since I became the second owner in 1976.

So, 1974 450 MKIII, 35mm Marzocchi plain top yoke for clip-ons. Fork stanchion to fork stanchion centres is 170mm. Fork stanchion centre to steering stem centre is 105mm. This using the "dead eye" and "very near calipers" method. The stanchion holes upper face is also 20mm below the upper face of the steering stem face. See attached images.

Good health, Bill

Hello George,

These measurements are very close but measured from going bikes so it's a bit hard to be exact.

RT 180mm centre to centre fork spacing.
60mm offset C to C

Scrambler 179mm
57mm offset (ish,,,)

Yellow Desmo Ceriani (disc brake) 195mm centre to centre
45mm offset

hope this helps

Graeme

Thanks Graeme and Bill, so the reason I am asking is some time ago I decided to convert my 350 mk 3 back to handlebars and forward footrests again (starting to get a bit old for both my ducati's to be cafe racers) so I placed a wanted add in the section of this forum.......got a lot of help but no top yoke .......so a couple of nights ago I spotted a marzocchi 35mm top yoke on "the bay of evil" "removed from a 1969 450 jupiter" with 35mm forks, I am trying to find out if this will fit my 74 350 does anyone know? I have just moved house and my 350 is in storage, I can't get at it at the moment to do any measuring.
Cheers,
George

George

Jupiter is a name used in the US for the 450 SCR and therefore the yokes are the same as the SCR and not the same or compatible with a Mark 3.

However I was having a turn out at the weekend and I may well have something to suit as I found a couple of top yokes the same pitch and offset as a Mark 3. I'll have a look tomorrow and let you know.

Regards Nigel

I think that Jupiter was used for early years, and scrambler for the later years here.
The breakdown might be between series breaks.

Aye George,

Just had a thought, rather than faffing about trying to change top yokes etc. Have a read of this thread and see what you think?
