Mach1 ---Mark 3 NC Front guard (fender!)

Have to do something , so going to remove the raised front lip of my Mark 3 guard ( Bennelli probably) . So how far in front of the forks should the guard be? , Looking at period photos the guard should finish a little forward of the hub spoke flange and the side edge should line up to the front edge of the brake plate. The curve of the cut appears to vary ,different suppliers?.
