A Hell of an interesting way for someone to spend their retirement, as long as they have the facilities to do everything 'in house' and I don't mean the spare bedroom!

Not for me.

I reckon that the hoard was in the USA, probably at a breaker's yard somewhere. There is some good stuff there, but it would take a close inspection to see how much of it is really useable.

USA, yes, one of the boxes is marked 'Rapid City SD' (South Dakota).
Someone on Fakebook was advertising a lot like that for $25k, IIRC.
