Hi Craig,

Yes I did get that email, thank you. Please forgive me for not acknowledging.

Mine has the RHS switchblock as shown above, for indicators. Not that I can get the indicators to work, despite each individual component checking out; but I haven's checked the loom yet.

BTW, how do I post a photo? I can see the Img command but what do I do with it?

Thanks

Here's a pic of RHS switch:

I worked out how to post photos.

That bracket that holds both the master cylinder and the RH switch looks to be a home made item to me, although obviously quite effective.
I presume it was fitted to avoid the problem Craig has, that of not having much room on the clip on for all three components-master cylinder, switch and twistgrip.
As you are only using the indicator switch I guess the start button has had the wires removed to avoid contact with the mounting screw.
The photo I posted of a Forza with the integral switch and twistgrip gets round the problem of lack of length on the clip on.
It is often necessary to fit clip on extensions (bar end weights) to get the length required to fit all the components needed, although that is not so easy on the Vento aluminium clip ons as the end is solid, unlike most clip ons made with tube.

Hi Jon,

Yes, it may be homemade, I don't know. Works well and is quite strong.

I don't suppose you know what brake calipers are on a Vento? My fronts seem seized and I want to rebuild the lot.
Thanks.

Peter

Hi Peter,

The calipers fitted to Ventos are Brembo PO5.
I always fit new pistons and seals to these calipers to avoid problems of leaks and sticking pistons later on.

I’ve never rebuilt the little callipers, but for the bigger P08 on my Guzzi I used the anodised alloy pistons. Supposedly they will not suffer the same seizure/corrosion issues as the steel ones.

NIce to have the Vento owner's manual, thanks.

The handlebar switch looks to be related to Lucas 169SA, search web for images.
Also a copy branded Sparx.

It looks to be a typical adaption by a small company.
Neat.

I really appreciate all the help and advice. Here's a couple more Q's that won't be relevant for a while:

1. Is there a consensus on the ignition system: stick with coil-and-points or go aftermarket electronic? Bearing in mind that I'll do v few miles on this, so points wear won't be an issue.

2. Not being good at translating from Spanish, am I safe in using the ignition timing settings for a Bologna 350?

Thanks again!
