Unfortunately I can't see the image in the link you have posted.
However, the switch block on the Vento attaches to the LH clip on, not the RH one.
The switch unit acts as the clamp for the clutch lever

Are those Smiths Chronometric gauges? Standard?

'I can see how I can clamp the brake master cylinder on, using something like this:
https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Handlebar-C ... SwHrldkRSS
but I don't know how I can attach the switch block.
be nice, I'm not very bright.'
Yes, any clamp that fits will do the job, maybe you can find one on eBay if you measure the bolt centres and the handlebar diameter.

They are Smiths Chronometric instruments.
Definitely not standard.
Smiths Chronometrics are infinitely adjustable for different tyre sizes, easily repaired and some of the most accurate clocks available for old motorcycles, at a price.
An overhauled pair in the UK currently sell for £500-£700
I've fitted them to a number of Ducati singles, even vibratory 450s, without any problems.
The standard clocks are VDO Walker items, made in Spain, possibly the most inaccurate instruments ever made.
VDO took the innards of their 2" clocks and fitted them into a 3" case, with a longer needle, but failed to increase the strength of the needle return spring, resulting in a needle that waves around everywhere.
Not that many of the Italian speedos fitted to Ducati singles are much better.

I like it that Chonometrics have screw-off bezels, surely how all good gauges ought to be made.
The clockwork action is fun to watch, too.

Re: Project Vento has begun: help wanted.
Problem fixed. I found the part, in the box of bits provided by the previous owner.
Mine is diiferent to yours, Jon, it has switchblocks on both sides. On the RHS there's a pressed metal plate that the brake lever bolts onto the back of, and the switchblock screws onto the front.
I'm now trying to get the electrics to work. I've finally worked out what each and every wire and connection does; next challenge is to get them all to work. Some previous owner has to an extent butchered the harness.
And after that, get all the brakes to work. On the front, some pistons, in the calipers, are seized. I tried to undo the big socket-headed bolts holding the calipers together and just bent my Allen key.

Re: Project Vento has begun: help wanted.
I'd be interested to see a photo of your switch gear, particularly the RHS.
The Forzas have RH switch gear in addition to the LHS, with a starter button at the bottom and usually a blanking plug at the top, but sometimes a kill switch.
This RH switch gear is usually integral with the twistgrip, but sometimes a separate switch with a plastic backing plate that allows the switch gear to be clamped to the bars.
I believe that your Vento is about 1978 which means it should just have the LH switch fitted.
