Re: In search of widecase swingarm
The Vento frame and swinging arm Bill points out in Spain may be a widecase frame, but the swinging arm is a bit different to the Italian swinging arm.
The forked end is closed, rather than open and takes a 17mm rear wheel spindle , in place of the standard 15mm.
It also has the lower bracing along the side arms, as fitted to the Scrambler models.
There is also no lug on the LHS to engage with a brake plate as the production Vento was only fitted with disc brakes .
There is a widecase swinging arm for sale in the US.
Greg at EBVC has one. E Bay item no.313262743266
That Vento frame in Spain has been cut about slightly anyway, with one of the rear seat loops cut off,
Jon

Re: In search of widecase swingarm
Thank you for all that info. But I had/have/will have no intention of buying a frame and swingarm from Spain when I'm looking for just a swingarm and, preferably, shipped from CONUS to keep shipping costs down. The swingarm you referenced on ebay has some repairs done to it and I'm not really looking for a swingarm project.
But if anyone has a swingarm for a widecase let me know will ya? Thanks!

Aye Jon and HMBAtrail,
Thank you for the full description Jon, it was the back of midnight and well past when I should have been getting some 'shut-eye', when I saw HMBA' post.
I know HMBA' you specifically said swingarm and your side of the pond, but sometime in desperate times, needs must!
I have swingarms, but frames as well and I have no intention of splitting them, so I am sorry that I cannot help more, except to still keep an eye open for you.
Good health, Bill

Thanks Bill (and all!). I'll keep my ear to the ground but if anyone hears something let me know.
