Monza 160 Piston ring

hi guys, hope you are ok.

I have one more question about Ducati Monza 160.
I have bought Monza with stuck piston, fortunately it was because the 1. piston ring was stuck in cylinder(probably long and bad storing condition).
But unfortunately, even when i tryed to be gentle, the 1. ring broke to pieces during the cleaning.
I know nothing about piston rings. I did not measure the thickness of the ring. Such a mistake. So, when i disassembly the engine again, i'll measure groove on the piston. But - what about when i will be unable to find seller of the ring or ring set? Is possible to buy bigger ring and cut him? Just to be sure, the 1. ring is stainless steel?
