I'm having trouble with the charging system on my 250 Strada. I have fitted a three phase r/r from vehicle wiring products. The battery is not being charged at any rev range. Does anyone have a simple diagram or advise?

While waiting for Jon to come along, here's the Strada wiring diagram.

(Looking at it, I have no reason to think that Strada has anything more than a conventional 3-wire alternator - ?)

Hi

Well I guess we have to ask was it ever working?
How are you checking if it's charging - voltmeter?
If you have a multimeter you could check that each of the alternator wires is connected to each other, and that they are not connected to earth. That would be a start.
Are you running 6V or 12V? Have you go the correct regulator for the voltage?

That's probably enought to be getting on with, let us know the outcomes.

The battery wasn't charging because the fuse I put between the r/r and the battery wasn't located in the stupid #%£&@ fuse holder properly. Maybe I should just remove the fuse altogether. Thanks for the prompt advise etc.....

Gotta ask .. what are you trying to protect with the fuse? :? Fuses are intended to protect wiring and components against excess current flow. In this situation, I don't really see its function ...

P.s And, as a general rule, the fewer you have, the better :)
