Forza base gasket query
There is an aluminium base gasket sandwiched between two fibre gaskets on my Forza. The gasket is about 1 mm thick. Is this nescessary for the rebuild? Does it lower the compression slightly?

Re: Forza base gasket query
I don't know about the Forza, but I have seen 2mm thick aluminium base spacer on a Ducati.
I seem to remember it was a SCR model widecase, and I am under the impression it was to lower compression.
It's an advantage of bevel camshaft drives that it is easy to adjust compression ratios this way, compared to other OHC systems.

Re: Forza base gasket query
If I left it out would the bike have more power/torque? Is this too simplistic a theory?

Re: Forza base gasket query
I doubt if you would notice any difference, It has more to do with petrol quality/octane rating.
