Front end options

I'm looking for some options on a complete front end for my 250 single.

I currently have a 86 or so front end from a Yamaha Radian. It kind of fits the frame but I'm not looking to really use it. So I'm looking for a new one.

This bike was never a complete bike so I'm free to use just about anything that will work or some original parts if I can find some. I'll need a front fork, triples, and some matching wheels. I was thinking of picking so supermoto wheels but I'm not ever sure where to start there to find something that is going to fit. I'd like to use something with disc brakes but it's not really necessary.

The rear wheel I've got looks to be from a 160 and may not work at all. I pulled the cush and sprocket out of it and I can't find either of those that will fit.

So I'm looking for some recommendations.

I've got some pics here -> http://akress.com/monoster.php The current setup I've got is pretty sad looking.

Thanks, Adam

Disc brake front end on Ducati NC single are all wrong. If you need to do it on the cheap, use Yamaha DS7/R5 front fork and drum brake which I’m told will bolt right on. Or Honda CB 72/77 or CB 350 drum front ends. Another, better option is Harley Sprint front ends which are very cheap. Actually the stock Ducati fork isn’t that costly, the brakes are fairly common but you’ll Have to buy a new rim since stock rims are usually too rusty to be worth it. A 160 rear wheel should work but the rims are 16” so you’d need spokes and a rim. There are inexpensive options for 250 spokes but I don’t know what the diameter the 160 hub is. There are affordable Radaelli chrome steel rims that look the part and cost the same as any other option.

Hey Adam,

I'm no help with the front end, but I just read through your posts on that link. Good stuff!

It looks like getting an Ohio title via the Vermont method worked pretty well? Any advice on the process? My summer project is to get a MN title for my frankenbike 350...

Following you in Instagram now, btw.

...and I think the discs on the NC look fine ;)

Thanks guys.

I'm liking the Yamaha option if it will bolt right on and inexpensive. CB is another good option, thanks! I'm going through eBay now.

The Vermont title was way easier than I expected. Along with the paper work, I sent them a bill of sale I had for one of my frames and some photo's of the bike and a close up of the serial number on the case. I got a paper title a few weeks later and a few weeks after that a plate and sticker. I called and spoke to them a few weeks in and they were super nice. Nite and day difference from the Ohio bmv. If you need the links to the paper work shoot me a message and dig them up.

Thanks for the info! I think I've found all the relevant paperwork/instructions by following the links on your site.
