Hi,

I need to convert my 250 4 speed from the leaf spring to the coil spring and brace. I've got the brace but what I need is a spring and the length of the long bolt and spacer. Or if someone has a kit that's not ridiculously priced like the ebay one, I'd buy one.

Nigel Lacey does the spring retainer plate, plus lock tab and spring. All you need then is to drill and tap the crankcase for a second fixing, and make two spacers from a bit of thick wall aluminium tube..

I'm going to order the spring and lock tab today from Lacey. Any chance you know the length of the longer bolt and spacer?

I picked up some parts today. Hopefully if the weather warms up a bit I can get back to work on it soon.

When I did this conversion, a machinist friend suggested putting a glob of grease on the drill bit and tap to capture the metal shavings....worked great!
