Thanks for replies, I found DD's thread for his DM250-84644, in which I found reference to a Steve Allen register of frame and engine numbers which a few forum members were citing in their quest to identify parts and pieces. I've had a look, it appears the only Steve Allen I can find resides on bevel-heaven, is that where I should be scouring for the register to check my x and y's? (found it hXXp://bevelheaven.com/data-single.htm) hmmm.

There is a limited registry of bevel single engine/frame numbers on bevel heaven.

A 907xx number is a 5 speed. The last 4 speeds would be 84xxx. If the cases have a hole drilled in the upper chain tunnel for the countershaft sprocket chain guard then they are likely scrambler cases. No hole - Monza cases.
