Popping back through crb

Postby Dave L » Sat Jan 19, 2019 9:48 am

When I try to start my Strada nothing happens for a few kicks and then it pops back rather pathetically though the carb.Good spark, new carb ,no air leaks. How far out should the mixture screw be.I will check if I have put the timing cam on 180 degrees out as well.Any further ticks on starting would be gratefully received, cheers,Dave

Start with valve timing and ignition timing, Dave. If they're not right, you'll be for ever chasing your tail ...

I had the same behavior. My ignition timing was 180 degrees off. Reversed it and it almost started on the first kick, was running on the second.

Did the timing disc tdc procedure again and now it starts first time and runs fairly smoothly.I need to stick the air box and silencer on before trying to get it running perfectly, cheers
