con rod kits

Postby briggy » Tue Dec 04, 2018 3:12 pm

hi I,m rebuilding a 1973 250 mk3 and would like to hear any opinions on the con rod kits available as the price variation is huge and also the pistons. Any advice would be much appreciated Thanks

Hi Ian

do you have the engine dismanteld yet ? there are 3 types of widecase crankshafts .

better look first what you have before ordering the wrong BE set

yes engine in bits ,i assume the blanking plug is is the same dia as the crank pin and the crank webs need to be machined for a wider con rod.just not sure if the arrow rods are worth the large amount of extra money .Cant find a lot on google about them
cheers Ian
