I have it back together again and all seems fair. I have fitted a shim /washer between the speedo plate center and bearing (hard to keep in situ while threading the axle in) which brings the plate out flush with the hub flange and seems to help the speedo drive run less noisily. On the drawings it shows a felt and washer here ,probably left out with the use of sealed bearings ,but perhaps could have spaced the plate out?, I wonder if I can find some to check?. The felt is shown outboard of the washer ,bit odd?.
