That list is one of the most accurate for Mototrans machines, although even then one has to be careful as there are a few mistakes.
The Forza and Vento went into production in February and March 1977, not 1976 as stated.
Also, for some reason the 200TS numbers started at 61851 according to Mototrans technical circular number 23.
Why not at 60000? I have no idea, unless the 175 numbers went over 60000, although I've only seen 175TS numbers go up to about 58000.
If anyone knows differently, I would like to hear from them to help with my notes.

The Mototrans section was closed so as to bring Mototrans posts into this main discussion group.

A big concern was that posts in the Mototrans section would not get enough views to illicit replies being as it was separated from Italian-made Ducatis and required more effort and time from members to review.

The commonality of these two closely related motorcycles far outweighs any minor differences they have.

Closing the Mototrans section was not meant to be a slight to Mototrans owners but rather it was intended to better support and celebrate the Mototrans Ducatis and their descendants developed after Italian Ducati singles ceased production.

So. My Mototrans 250 NC 5 speed which I was told is a scrambler has eng no MD933## and frame no MD934## and should be a 250 Deluxe from that list. Is that correct or am I missing something ?

Pretty sure, John, that no Mototrans narrow-case ever carried the Scrambler name. Bologna, however, did make one between 1965-67; but these would have carried DM frame and engine numbers.

The first (and only) Barcelona 'Scramblers' were wide-cases. (In fact, all the later 'Italian' 250 wide-case Scramblers were assembled In Bologna using Spanish-sourced parts. And all the 350 Scramblers had Spanish-sourced engines).

So, bearing in mind that the 250 Deluxe was the best selling machine in Spain (source: Carlos Polo, Ducati Mototrans), I reckon that's what yours is/was :) .

The late 250 De Luxe models changed in appearance from the photos Craig has posted, and did look more like a narrowcase scrambler.
A number of parts from the narrowcase 250 Road were fitted, including the tank and seat.
Some even had the small triangular toolboxes of the 24 Horas/ Mach 1 etc..
As Craig says, the only true Scrambler models made by Mototrans were 250 and 350 widecase machines, but even these had different frame number series depending on whether the machines were for Spanish home use or export.
I would say that Jebs numbers indicate a 250 De Luxe from the early 1970s.
Post a photo.

Finally, a large site with a vast amount of fotos, showing resoration work on a 350 Road (w/c, spanish). Beware, it takes a very long time to load ...

Not a 250 Road, but a 1974 250 De Luxe, 5 speed .
As I said before, the late 250 De Luxe incorporated a number of parts from the 250 Road, hence the tank and seat .
The Spanish registration is a 1974 Valencia number.
