I am trying to verify if this front brake hub (Double Sided) is the correct one for a 1971 or 1972 Silver Shot Gun? Are these the correct Marzzochi fork legs?

Thanks.

Going by the reference photos in Ian Falloon's Singles book, I'd say yes to both. (Speedo drive on the right suggests 1972 rather than '71).

Others may of course disagree ... ;)

hard to tell from these fotos . late model scrambler used the same forks only the sliders where longer ( more fork travel , 14 cm instead of 12 )

you have to measure c.t.c. distance . silver shotgun polished sliders and yellow desmo ( black sliders )had 170 mm ctc
Scramblers has 180 mm c.t.c.

and rim diameter Scrambler and blue and gold M3 tourer had 19 inch . shotgun and yellow desmo 18 inch

I assume c.t.c means center to center? Center of what to center of what?
Thanks for the replies.

This distance? Wouldn't that vary based on the triple tree? What if the fork legs are off the bike? How would I verify scambler legs versus regular?

Is the rim rusty steel?
Hard to see for sure in your pictures
All the shotguns and yellow bikes I’ve seen all had borrani rims

Graeme-

That is not a Silver Shotgun or desmo. I am just trying to find out if that is the correct fork and brake hub for one.

Hi Nic

i had a closer look and the bikes with narrower tripple clamps have sliders that are narrower where the axle passes thrue .
this fork has that to .

it looks to me the forks and hub are correct for a silver shotgun after removing the black paint .
