Postby PhilR » Tue Mar 20, 2018 8:57 pm

Does anyone know the colour codes for a 1961 (approx.) metallic blue and gold 125 Sport?

I'll try and find the link, but if you go on the Lechler website there is a list of historic paint codes, including Ducati. My painter matched the blue for my 175TS. A22 I think.

Hi Phil,
These are NOT "official" colors, correct colors, or even associated with DUCATI at all, but they are close colors, and a good bit of research went into coming up with them...
Dupont in america ( I don't know where you are) can mix these. I like the results I got with them. A dupont paint store will be able to show you a chipset with examples of these colors.

ensign blue Diana tank.jpg
on a ducati singles facebook page a guy showed his painted blue Diana tank and it looked the correct color

several people asked wat color it was and he said it was a PPG color for a 80's Chrysler

PPG 3496 ensign blue

Good Luck Eldert

Try this - http://uk.lechler.eu/DesktopModules/Bring2mind/DMX/download.aspx?Command=Core_Download&EntryId=42884

And here's my tank in what I believe to be A22 Azzurro Metallizato and silver. I'm in UK and my painter reckoned he could use the old Lechler codes to get the colour mixed. I have a note of the silver code somewhere.

Just a guy I know who used to do some stuff for us at work. He's not a specialist bike painter. The finish is not Dream Machine level but is fine for me as this will be a bike for riding. Also price was not Dream Machine level, no cheques, no invoice, no VAT.
I've got to drop some more stuff round soon so I can ask if I can give you his number. He's in Cheadle (Staffs) but I think his workshop is in Sheffield.
