I've used one of these in an old car and it has worked perfectly. It's super small and easy to program and install.

I have considered one of those , the only downsides are they use current all the time and are a little on the big side.

A charge indicator light is a basic warning device that warns if you are likely to experience a flat battery in the near future while using your vehicle.
Another benefit is that it lets you know the ignition is switched on with engine not running.
I'm not sure of the best way to have one on a standard Ducati single.
My 12V conversion uses a rectifier-regulator from a small tractor, with includes an output wire for a charge indicator lamp. Cheap and nice!

I have something like that on one of my bikes.
I can't use all of its functions, because I'm red-green colour-blind.
Far too complicated. :)
