Diana Tank vs Mototrans Road 250 Tank

Postby motociclo » Thu Oct 19, 2017 4:19 am

Hello all, I have been trying to find out what the differences are between the Diana Tank (or Daytona) and the Mototrans 250 road tank. I haven't been able to find a picture of the underside of the tank, but the petcock position and general shape appear to be close. Any knowledge would be greatly appreciated!

the Diana tank is the larger one . the road tank is smaller and looks more like a Mach1 tank

The tank in your photo is fitted to a Road 77.
This was the same tank that was fitted to the Spanish 250 De Luxe.
The De Luxe tank has a capacity of 18 litres, so slightly larger than a Mach 1(16 litres ).

Thank you both for the info! I'm exploring less expensive gas tank alternatives for the not as collectible, but fun to build and ride singles. The 'square style' headlight has started to grow on me over time but I don't think the tank and fenders ever will..
