Hey everyone.

Question. I have a bunch of flywheels brass and alloy, what is the best way to store them? Does it matter is the stick to each other or is the a big no no. Or can I just stackem together in a box? Any advice is welcome. Thanks

B

Magnets are sometimes stored with "keeper" bars to help retain magnetism.
For example, horseshoe magnets often had a straight soft steel piece across the pole legs.
So, I think it would be OK to have a pair of flywheels magnetically "stuck" together, as it would have the same effect of closing the flux path, preventing it from having to flow through air.

I believe you're supposed to store a flywheel with the stator inside it, but it would be nice to hear from an authority.
