Hello, I am new to this forum and was hoping someone might be able to help me out with some information. I have a 1965 250 Mach 1 that is far from original and missing both toolboxes. I have managed to source a 2nd hand pair of toolboxes but cannot fathom out how they fit to the frame as there appears to just be an elongated slot on the back of the toolboxes. Am I missing some brackets and if so how should they attach to the frame? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Pete

Pete,
A screw through a slot in the back of the toolbox attaches to a tab hanging down from the top frame tube, and screws through the holes in the angled side of the toolbox attach to a Z shaped bracket on the frame tube, the red tabs in this drawing:

Cafe racer types often 'detab' a frame to make the bike look racier- a couple of ounces rarely affects lap times.

Thanks Rick, it makes a bit more sense now having seen the diagram. My frame does not have the lugs so must have been removed sometime in its past.
