Problem solved due to a friends pre-planning that went wrong. A buddy of mine who is a Ducati collector put aside a 2.50 -18 Pirelli ribbed front tire for a NC project he was planning. Now the project has been sold down the road but he still had the front tire in his stack of spares. A little horse trading and I now have a new front tire for the 1967 Diana.

The tire is remarkably soft from having sat for more than 6 years and there is no weather checking. Even got a rear tire to go with it. So I am set for single cyl rubber for a while. Thanks for all the suggestions and links!

Would love to re-visit this topic. I can't find anyone who says that the 80/90x18 AM26 is available. Also striking out on the Hindeneu lead. Anyone found any tires that will work on the MK3 here in the states that have a higher speed rating then a moped tire which are usually L rated with a max speed of 75mph? I am looking for something with a P of R rating. Any help would be much appreciated.

Check out this Italian company:

https://italianclassictire.com

The US distributor is here in California and is also the distributor for Heidenau.

Hi Vintmoto,
I know they're not Italian, or that popular in these circles, but have you looked at IRC tires?
http://www.irc-tire.com/en/mc/products/ ... ard_combi/
They have some P rated for light weights.
Look at GS11, and NR21, and NR40.
I use them no trouble yet...

I gave a link to some P rated tyres in post 2 of this thread.

Thanks guys. I ended up finding the Heidenau's on Amazon of all places. Only thing that was not ideal is that the only rear I could find in an original tread pattern is 3.00 wide. Was able to get the ribbed 2.50 for the front though. The 3.00 width was standard for the Monza and GT, so hopefully it will be fine. They are S rated, so good to 112mph. That is plenty enough cushion for me as my bike rarely sees anything north of 80 mph.

Just to follow up, I received and installed the Heidenau tires and they are great. Front is the ribbed 2.50x18 and fits neatly under the Mk3 front fender. The 3.00/18 Rear has a stock looking pattern and does not appear too large for the narrow rear fender. Handling is great and I now feel safe at highway speeds.

All,
I purchased 3.25X18 Dunlop TT100K82s from Feked in the UK. These were freshly made in France and were priced at 58.95 Pounds each. I think they are H rated.
Shipping to the US was pricey.
I mounted the tires on Borani WM2 rims that I have on my 250 Mk3.
They have great grip, track true under all road conditions, and have quick lean-in. Too soon to estimate mileage but that is never a concern of mine.
Personally, I have always felt that slightly wider tires make 250/350s feel more stableunder all conditions.

I have Cheng Shin tires. Look like original tires that were fitted. Around 50 Canadian a tire. Can't say how good they are but sure look the part. Hope this helps
