Ignition coil wax

My 125 Sport was outside under the cover, engine shut off. After the recent hot weather I noticed a few brownish color wax drops on top of the EX valve cover. I believe they are ignition coil wax. Is there anything I can do to rescue the original patina coil, or what to replace it with?
Regards,
Brian

Many coils are filled with oil to aid in cooling. You could try cleaning with thinners where the bakelite top fits to the metal case and using a smear of oil-proof "silicon" sealer.

Hi,
I know most modern coils were filled with some kind of oil, but this 1960 125 Sport coil has wax inside. It is solid at 80F. I seem to remember reading about the wax in one of Ducati Manuals.
I don't know how much wax is left inside. The aluminum housing looks un-molested and so the leak must be from aluminum corrosion at the sealing surface.
