"Directions for the overpowering"

Postby Jordan » Wed Oct 12, 2016 7:15 am

..is the name (or something like that) of a supplement to a narrowcase owners manual, published around 1962.

Anyone know of it, where it can be seen, downloaded, purchased...?

On this page http://www.hanssmid.nl/archief_excel/overzichten.htm a guy named Hans Smid from the Netherlands claims to own this supplement as an original. Maybe he sells copies or scans. As the page is entirely in Dutch, Eldert may help out with translation.

Just found a document on my PC: http://renato2.bplaced.net/DUCATI/250s_corse_1.pdf It's not what is in question, but may be useful anyway.

cheers Hans

I'd like a copy if available.
If Eldert would be so kind as to enquire on my behalf..

I'm away from tomorrow for about a week, so won't be reading or answering forum messages until return.

Thanks,
Jordan

Thank you Eldert.

I think there is another document with a similar name, as mentioned here:
Books-Chris Miller collection.jpg

According to this article by Chris Miller, it has 27 pages.

Hello,
I just know the appendix of the french Ducati widecase manual, about the seventies, to improve output of the monocylinder (lightening the clutch and the gears, choosing the cams, etc...)...

I know the French article you refer to, but it is not the one I'm looking for. It is very good nevertheless.

Hi Jordan,

Yep, you're right: there is, and it does ;) . And I have a copy :D .

Overpowering cover.jpg

But before you get too excited, I have to warn you that it's really not very informative! Here's the most useful couple of pages. Which amount to 'Drill the clutch basket' and 'Fit the racing kit'! Amongst which, note in particular the All Important, "Tuned Engine" transfers :o .

Overpowering 2.jpg

But let me know if you'd like more ...

P.s I quote:
"If all the work has been done in accordance with the prescribed recomandations (sic) etc etc ... the resulting speed should exceed 155 Km/h."

Broom!!

Ciao

Craig
