Treatment for faded seat cover

Hello folks! Due to work and health concerns it has been a number of years since I have been around this place but I once again have some time to work on some of my Ducati projects.

My current question is that I found a good condition US spec Mark 3 (NC) seat at a swap meet. The only problem is that the cover is very dull and dry looking. I am wondering about what I can treat the surface with to bring the original look back and prolong the seat's life. I am not a fan of Armor-All on motorcycle seats as they make them very slick. What would be good for restoring the cover on this relatively rare seat?

I've heard baby oil works on old vinyl seats, surely it won't hurt anything.

There may be a better way, Rub baby oil all over the GF , then get her to--------------- no,that won't work, what were we going to do??.

Actually I prefer that my forks stay firmly affixed to the front of the motorcycle. I am afraid I also don't have a girlfriend or wife to apply the baby oil. What to do? What to do?

Well... How much do you LOVE your Ducati?
Seriously though try the baby oil, my brother used it on an old Ducati seat said it worked great. Use mineral oil if that makes you feel less pervy.

Mineral Oil sounds like something I could more easily get behind. Probably have to pick up some this weekend.

I suspect that trying to restore old vinyl with a surface treatment is temporary at best. My guess is that some of the components that make vinyl soft and shiny cook off over time and others are lost to UV and ozone attack.
