Shofter box setup
Friend of mine had a shifter box that was packed up with old grease and some rust. I took it apart and cleaned and re greased it but I do not know how to set the tits on the drum and where the engine is supposed to be shifted to in order for things to work properly. So far the internet and the shop manual have been no help. thanks, Tom

I shouldn't matter what position the detent system (spring, ball & depressions) is in, when assembling the selector box.
I don't think you can incorrectly connect it to the shaft from a single's gearbox. Just line up the fork and tongue, which may as well be in neutral positions.

Well then I must have something out of place. I will review the assembly. It would be nice if there were some good pictures someplace.

No consolation, but I find the selector box a pig of a thing to work on.
