when i disassembled my forks there was some kind of sealant on the bolt that holds the damper tube in place, just checked the manual and it mentions a gasket any idea where i get one or alternatives to get this sealed ?

On Nortons you can use a fibre washer from DIY or plumbing stores.

You can use a copper or aluminum sealing washer from any Japanese model that uses an 8mm bolt to secure the damper rod. Honda part number 90544-283-000 fits an 8mm thread and has an outside diameter of 13mm.
