ok, thanks, the bike is a '69. that's two votes for a 19 front. I have a book that says both ends are 18 but that didn't seem right to me.

Hello Rich,

Tried to reply on your email but it bounced back. Anyway looks like you have an answer but for what its worth, here is the reply:

According to my parts book which is 1969, the front rim is stated at 19" x
2.5".I think that the 2.5" refers to the outside of the rim an odd way to
describe a rim. The width of a rim is normally stated as the width
between the inner faces of the rim where the tyre sits and a 2.5 rim is
equivalent to a WM4, which is a fairly wide rim. I would have thought the
correct rim width would be a 1.85 (WM2).

The rear rim is described as an 18" x 3" which is consistent with the
outside width of my Scrambler rear wheel. This is actually 2.15 inside
(WM3).

I have also just checked the handbook and the rim size is stated as wm 2 x
19 front and wm 3 x 18 rear

Hope this helps

Best Wishes Nigel
